Many of you have asked me for the contact information for the CAA, following my complaint that the CAA does not stand up for motorists, because they refuse to condemn the city of Toronto’s war on cars. Their magazine never wrote about it or about Howard Moscoe’s secret agenda of spending one billion dollars for turning Allen Expressway into a Boulevard, nor the building of 120 km of traffic crippling streetcars! (Thankfully Howard Moscoe finally resigned after much pressure from the public)

It is important to write to this influential organization to make your point. And if you want to get results you will need to e-mail all of them. Paul Ferris however never accepted my e-mails not even after giving me his e-mail address when I asked him to print a story about the slow, gridlock causing streetcars proposed by David Miller and misrepresented as rapid transit! So I faxed my letter to him at 416-640-6164 and also mailed a copy of it by Canada Post to:

You wonder what the CAA is afraid of. Teresa Di Felice of course was one of David Miller’s employees at City Hall in 2004/5. She justified the CAA Magazine’s refusal to print a story about the war on cars by saying it would be of little interest to many readers. In 2004 Teresa Di Felice was hired by the CAA when they were promoting the Mobility Express, a balanced transportation plan for Toronto. At that time they thought it would be of interest to all motorists. Until David Miller found out about the results of the Mobility Express that showed a large majority of motorists prefer a subway and were against streetcars, Teresa Di Felice killed the project and fired the two transportation experts and refused to give them a reference that would help them to obtain other employment. Is she representing the motorists or the city of Toronto? Is David Miller telling the CAA what to do?

As the CAA seems to care little about motorists being severely inconvenienced by more gridlock, horrendous pollution and endless construction dragging on for years by reducing main streets to one lane in each direction, we must all write to them to complain and we might consider to join other automobile clubs if they don’t defend our interests.
